1/4th Battalion (TF) Gordon Highlanders

This site is intended as a gathering place for information, images and research concerning the 1/4th Battalion (TF) The Gordon Highlanders, during the Great War of 1914-18. This is very much a work in progress, in fact I have barely begun.

In the future I hope to be able to make available as much information as possible about the 4th Bn, however for now this is just a placemarker. I am compiling a casualty database, transcribing the Battalion war diary and collating a number of secondary sources. The purpose of this site is both to commemorate the men of the 4th Bn and the others who served in the Great War and to serve as a resource for those seeking information on relatives who may have served with the battalion.

At this point in time (April 2007) much of the data is incomplete. I am adding to the site all the time. Future plans include an attempt to link casualties with particular actions and locations which might be of special interest to individuals seeking more information of relatives. In addition these will be linked to a chronology of the Battalions activities and such biographical data as may be available in public sources.
